When I read through the answers for the interviews, it is very hard to keep my own self attached to my own      thoughts as the subconscious minds involuntary records everything. The is a lot of similarities that I have found  that we share with all the interviewees hence making that diversity to be poles apart or not the same yet the    common goal is always to find a way to be happy, peaceful and at liberty with ourselves and others through our devotion to our work and the intended end results.

Meet Lunga Nelson Libambo, a poet called “Affinnitty”. He was born and raised in the city of coal (Emalahleni). Reveals that the best place to recite his work is in front of intimate groups like a cypher yet without the noise; this is true and identical to the definition of his stage name Affinnitty, which was taken from the English word “Affinity” which is defined as “a feeling of closeness and understanding that someone has for another person because of their similar qualities, ideas or interests” and this relates to his stage names as he said “ I relate to this definition , cause when I am most vulnerable when I am reciting or writing and the aim is to bring “my people” together or closer to me”.

An introvert, or rather a perfect definition of an introvert who believes that keeping things to himself is both a curse and best quality; Nevertheless, when it comes to his style of poetry which is emotional and mostly depressing with intentions to play with the strings of the heart then making you feel something thus touching a very intimate place in you moreover giving you a clear understanding of what the character is facing in that occurrence. The whole premise of this experience is to make you understand the character for the reason that you can easily acquaint and engage furthermore understanding the person.

“We live in a very disconnected era and understanding between people is lacking. I guess teaching people to understand each other are the effects that I want my poems to have on people”. _Affinnitty

“Inspiration comes from any and everything I come across; literally….” _Affinnitty

“First of all the world is bigger that our hometown. I mean being proud about where you come from can be pushed only so far till people notice that your hometown isn’t proud of you. Get your art out of the coal…but don’t forget it”_Affinnitty

“Poetry in the simplest terms is a dance of words... Like everything I listen to or watch someone recite I feel the words dance around me and paint pictures in my head that I could never imagine”_Affinnitty

The whole process is very important to him as it usually takes time to finish a piece besides that mood is constantly changing thus making it hard to be in the same mood which you started your work so tapping into that state needed to finish that poem is always the important factor for him . You can barely see any restriction in his work as he puts it “No lover of art is unwilling to learn, as far as I know”; the perfect place for his work would be personal playlists as far as his target market goes for his work.

The ultimate five year plan for his work is to have an opportunity to go places with this art; hopefully, living the mental prison of job and live through art, You can catch him on the 5OK project which is an ongoing project starting on the 4th of November 2017 at Blue Room at 2pm until 5pm, an initiative by Generational Galaxy. You can also follow his work on his page on Facebook called Affinnitty.

I could not live this out and it had to be on this article, Lunga Libambo told me that his current project is working on his life, poetry being the biggest part of it yet the is a lot of personal things that he is trying to get right before he goes back to performing, he said and I quote “Right now, I am the only obstacle between me and the people I want to reach”.
