Tom Odell’s song titled Heal has the following lyrics in it: “Take my mind and take my pain, like the empty bottle takes the rain and heal, heal, heal; heal. Take my past and take my sins, like an empty sail take the wind and heal, heal, heal, heal; heal.” The mantra of the word “heal” solidify the need to be healed as the gesture of healing which ironically can be seen in the movie “If you stay” which the song was used for as a soundtrack. This piece that you are about to peruse concentrate on the obstacles that hinder healing in our lives thus in turn lay to plain sight the scenarios that causes the major setbacks in those instance ; As provocative as it may be at times. The quest for this article is to present the truth as it is, without any hindering’s or excuses as Sisipho would say “Honestly, I’ve come to realize that the majority of people are afraid of the truth. At times, you are expected to sugarcoat experiences and/or stories”.
Selfless, independent and humble is the best way to describe Sisipho Hazel Ngcenge, a writer. She was born in Evander, Mpumalanga and currently lives in Burgersfort, Limpopo. An introvert, that is family oriented and has a huge affection for intimate spaces and company of people that makes her feel anti-social. Delineate the formation of her strengths as being emotionally intelligent, knowledge and generally being a strong woman and impatience as her biggest weakness. Laura Kubuitsile, a Botswana based writer, is the inspiration behind the uncensored, raw but not insensitive , thought provoking work that she puts out to touch others thus serving its importance to her as the author and the reader as the recipient.
The Artlogue journal an monthly online art magazine, is a platform where she shares most of her writing skills with the desire to learn more and be part of a group of creative individuals that have a lot to offer and significantly so, as she believes in sharing knowledge with little knowledge having an objective means of going a long way. The beginning for her love for writing or what prompted the desire to write can only be given a year which was in 2007 and the same can also be said about her style of writing as it cannot be categorized or be given a genre , yet it is provocative and it is inspired by everyday things and people. A line from a song or else a movie scene can bring to life a whole story.
She writes to give people hope and to help them not to give up as we face a lot of challenges as the youth and our resort is suicide that acts as an option, when nothing goes their way at times and that is in terms of materialism and money which really doesn’t matter.
“Passion is an undying fire that flames through us and lights up our lives. What you do may not be who you are yet it has to resemble your life” that is what she said. She went on to also declare this statement :“I intend to make a career out of my writing. Imagine travelling the world and giving voices to things, objects and people who’ve not yet found their voice”.
Humility /ubuntu is the one thing that she would like the world to know about her as she barely goes a lot and when she does is usually her going to a different location with her family, whom she devour most of her time too. Another project that she is working on is a project that seeks to inform
high school pupils about study options and ways to get bursaries. The project takes place in two
underprivileged schools with 17 learners involved in the initiative. The name of the project or the
directors cannot be revealed at this point yet we wish her all the success. In closing, we have a
special and profound message from her to people going through a lot in their lives, it reads:
“It is not yet the end. Seek to see the blessings in your own life. Read on disaster and other depressing stuff, you are never alone and as long you are still breathing, you have an opportunity to do better.”
These are the words from the beautiful lady who has a way with words through ( writing and prayer),she touches people lives that glorifies and reflect the Glory of God in her life. Words are her gift.
