In mathematics, when you get 5% for a test; it is rated as fail. In retail, getting a 5% discount is a reasonable bargain. In this world, when you only give 5% of your effort you will surely not succeed yet amazingly enough when it comes to the scale of measuring people based on domination, uniqueness and creativity 5% is perfect. I mean take any civilization as an example a king is considered great although he makes up a small percentage of that population. This is to clearly demonstrate that not everything that is popular is great although something that starts off as a disadvantage or that no one pays attention too in the beginning has more chances of making it.
A friend once said this to me : “when you have an idea, you can measure its success rate by the number of people who agree with it and those who disagree. When a lot of people agree with it then it is likely to fail yet the more people disagree with it then it shall definitely success. People are less comfortable with what they don’t know than what they know already.”
Let me show what I am talking about Selebogo Lindsay Makanyane is a hip hop emcee that goes by the stage name Slab, not only is Slab a unique being making him a 5%er ; yet his limitless creativity justify these remarks. He finds his inspirations from people and things that surround him like cartoons and his neighborhood. A child of the zero one three code, born in emalahleni, Mpumalanga; this 22 year old states “it’s not that i chose hip-hop, i think is always been a part of me but throughout my production years it’s the only music that allowed me to truly express myself vocally and spiritually, because i find comfort and reason to enjoy my creativity while building other people spiritually”.
“My music is what I call a rewind effect of the hip-hop game, I rap for trappy beats with relevant content, and classic boombab with the same relevant content”_ Slab. A member of Pointblank MIH, which was formed when he met up with Pracktical and Gimmo via SK to form the crew. The name of his current project is called The Grind thus with this project he would love for people to find themselves, find faith, learn about the truth and believe in themselves more through my craft, basically to be inspired and driven. Slab makes music that is diverse so making his target market to be the entire planet. On the production side of this emcee values any good quality studio he can find to lay his track as he often also laid them at his home or by
Pointblank or Old Skool even Dj Pringle. An indie artist that values his working relationship with Pointblank and BMG his family and mentions that he works for both his team and also independently.
The song that best describe his work is called “Just Fine”, A follow up after and Ep that is yet to be dropped yet he feel this song is a deep breath after a long struggle of work, setbacks and my life’s issues, so he feel it gives off why I am better now. This is an artist that is situated in a city that is known for mining coal yet sees no excuses yet prevails with great hope and faith that helps him to send his messages. He is a sheer symbol of faith and uplifting others through his work. No matter where we are or what the situation may appear, it is very important to understand that God doesn’t only work in favorable situation yet gives us favor in every situation for his glory.
